April 30, 2015 - Breaking News! - This blog will be administered by another blogger soon, so stay tuned!

APRIL 2015
Art Galleries in
Historic Downtown Vero Beach, Florida
14th Avenue (also called Main Street) and Beyond

"All good things must come to an end" someone once said, and so it will go with this blog.  April was my last time for updating this blog, and it will remain open, although outdated, until the end of may, when I will completely remove it from viewing.  News of the Vero Beach Arts District can be found on each Gallery's website or Facebook page, and on the Cultural Council's website www.cultural-council.org.  I have enjoyed sharing news about the Arts District with all of you out there the last few years, and hope you will continue to follow the wonderful things that will be happening there.  And we bid goodbye to Barry and his crew at Lighthouse Art and Framing also, who will be closing their doors April 30th.  The arts have grown leaps and bounds throughout Indian River County and the Treasure Coast, and I am honored to have helped and to continue to be a part of the arts through my painting, teaching and pitching in.

or Google Judy Burgarella and find painting videos

Welcome to the Vero Beach Arts District's collaborative blog.  Visit this "Blogspot" for news of coming or current events in the Arts District of Historic Downtown Vero Beach, Florida, featuring the works of renowned artists of the Treasure Coast and beyond, in a myriad of mediums, subjects and styles. In addition to fine art on canvas and paper etc., there is a vast array of jewelry, fiber art, basketry, photography, pottery, raku, artglass, fine art prints, and plenty of the ecclectic for those who dare to love the Avant-garde!

Galleries on 14th Avenue open their doors from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on First Fridays throughout the year for our "First Friday Gallery Stroll," and welcome guests to view new works and the works of their featured artists.  Non-gallery businesses (www.verobeachartspaces.blogspot.com) often feature local and regional artists' work in their establishments, and invite the public to enjoy refreshments, with many having special offers for their products and/or services.

Artists will be on hand to greet you and chat about their work and the work of others.  Enjoy music and refreshments as you stroll in and out of the galleries, viewing some of the region's finest artists. Galleries are clustered in a three-block area--perfect for an evening's leisurely stroll.  This monthly event is free and open to the public, so join us for First Fridays and perhaps find just that perfect piece of art for your collection!

While you're here, dine at one of the 3 dozen+ restaurants in or near the Arts District - to see a list click on the following link: www.verobeachartsdistrictrestaurants.blogspot.com
or enjoy cocktails and live music at one of the clubs after the stroll.

Galleries listed in this blog, and many artists therein on a personal basis, regularly give back
to the community and charitable organizations through donations of artworks,
expertise and financial contributions.

Pick up an Arts District brochure at any of
the galleries within the Arts District or find them
